Please read this blog…..or you’ll be sorry.

When you’re a 3rd rate blogger like myself (example 1example 2) with few followers, you hope to get any comments at all after a post. When I see the comments section of the several bloggers I follow, I wonder why I try at all. Getting 60-80 comments per blog is not unusual at all for most of them. Maybe it has something to do with their having hundreds of followers, I don’t know. But I think I might have one thing going that they don’t. I have one blog post that keeps on giving. Over a year and a half ago I posted a blog about a wealthy philanthropist (I’m gonna be rich…I’m gonna be rich). To this day I continue to get comments about it. Of course, it helps that it’s about an altruistic soul who is as relevant now as she was then.

If you are interested in helping the less fortunate and at the same time improving your own financial standing, I encourage you to read this previous blog. In it you will hear about Barrister Paul Wesley, who selflessly helps to facilitate the aid to underprivileged children. I googled him recently to find a picture, however, due to his obsession for remaining anonymous to avoid any undue credit, I could only find this sketch that someone did. I know he looks like he’s from an era long past, but I assure you he’s alive, since there is a record of him voting in the 2008 U.S. election.

Enjoy.

  1. I’m very envious that your Blog has achieved any kind of rating at all, and as to comments. Your’e miles ahead of me, and deservedly so I might add. I am now going to read that post, and leave a comment so you know I have

Welcome to the third rate blogger club, it can be discouraging. I’ve been blogging for almost two years and have 40 subscribers, there are days where I ask myself, “why bother?” Never was freshly pressed, never had anything go viral. Still I find myself plodding along. Keep at it Al, I enjoy reading your posts. 🙂

    • Al says:

Thanks, Jodi. If I’m honest with myself, I don’t worry about the numbers, just having fun. Your followers are devoted because you do a great service to dog lovers. What matters is the type of audience you’re reaching.Keep up the good work!!

I’m sure the fine barrister will be voting in tomorrow’s election as well. Perhaps multiple times.

I won’t say who cares about the numbers. If nobody’s reading, it’s depressing. But know that you’re the tops in my book any ‘ol time, Al!

    • Al says:

One compliment from someone like you is worth a hundred readers Actually, I wonder why you are not FP’d just about every time you post.

Speaking of tomorrow’s election, I’ve been getting robo calls all day long…have you? The last one was from Elvis. Said he was going to vote for Obama.

      • pegoleg says:

        Aw, thanks.

No, we ditched our land-line just a few weeks ago, so now we’re traveling under the radar. Thank you, JEsus! I am praying for a good outcome tomorrow, which is defined as all my candidates getting elected.

  4. Don’t worry Al. Quantity over quality never wins an election. Dianne

I don’t get 80 or 90 comments per pst but I get a lot of traffic. Don’t go off the numbers. I also get comments off of very old posts. Who knows why.

  6. pattisj says:

Al, that wasn’t Helen, that was that guy named Peggy…

    • Al says:

They’re hard to keep track of Patti. I think I’ll just post all my financial account numbers on the internet to avoid the confusion.

  7. Coming East says:

I wonder if she’s any relation to the woman I just sent all my personal info to so she could wipe out world hunger? So nice that you and I are doing so much for humanity. Maybe it will bring us more readers?

  8. my blog is like yours …quality not quantity…..just imagine having to reply to all those posts everyday..no, mine can take its chances and stay as it is…I sh

  9. Margie says:

I’m sorry, but I already have the Third Rate Bloggers position all locked up, so you will have to move up to Second Rate or First Rate. You do not have the option of moving into Fourth Rate or lower as all those positions are take by, well, bloggers who have less followers and less commenters than I do.
That pretty much covers the quantity issue, I think. As for quality, I’d give you a First Rating. Of course, I’d give myself a First Rating too, so I don’t know how reliable I am at judging.

    • Al says:

Au contraire, Madame Margie. I for one think you have a natural flair for writing. And, as opposed to my unforgivable penchant for just going for the cheap laughs, yours are actually very interesting. I will move up to 1st rate only if you will come with me for moral support.

  10. I’m famous for saying “I’m sorry” but something tells me I don’t want to be sorry in this case, so I’ll go read this post you did before I entered the blogosphere.

And, for the record, I object to your characterization of yourself as a third-rate blogger. It’s not about numbers, it’s about quality. And you are tops in my book! 🙂

  11. Bernice says:

I read it and I’m not sorry.

Your turn to write, but please don't be wittier than me. My ego is quite fragile.
